I've visited Buckeye Raceway in the past and always had a positive experience, which is why this situation is so disappointing. A group of us booked and prepaid for a race reservation online. The website accepted our reservation and payment without issue. We coordinated schedules, made the trip to the facility, and arrived only to find a sign on the door stating the business was closed for construction. What makes this unacceptable is that there was no email, phone call, text message, or any other notification informing customers that the facility would be closed. In addition, the website continued accepting reservations and Google showed the business as open. I immediately contacted Buckeye Raceway requesting a refund for the reservation. As of this review, nearly a week has passed and I have not received a single response acknowledging my request, much less confirmation that a refund is being processed. I completely understand that construction, maintenance, and unexpected closures happen. What I don't understand is continuing to accept reservations and payments while the facility is closed, then failing to respond to customers afterward. I would much rather update this review and remove it once the situation is resolved. However, the lack of communication and customer service has left me with little choice. If I continue to receive no response, my next step will be disputing the charge through my credit card company. Buckeye Raceway has always been a fun place to visit, which makes this experience even more disappointing. A simple notification and timely response would have prevented all of this.
The staff including the manager lets people including children get hit by other drivers and does not think there’s a problem. So if you like bumper cars this is your place. I got slammed into several times by a man who thinks he’s a nascar driver and the staff just ignored it. Here’s a photo of the manager who does not care what happens if anyone wants a free for all.
Showed up for our prepaid booked time and they were closed when all the hours and website said they were to be open. Edit: take this with a grain of salt; we went to k1 after and the manager said they have been shut down for the rest of year. So try your luck if you will but do a walk in DONT RESERVE.
