We recently celebrated my son’s birthday at the Des Moines K1 Speed location with their Junior Mini Grand Prix Premiere+ package. The staff was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Unfortunately, a big part of the package was disappointing. The kids were supposed to receive $20 each in arcade credits, but more than half of the machines were broken, and the ones that worked were outdated. This meant that the arcade portion of the experience, something the kids were excited about, was a big letdown. I followed up by email with the event representative afterward, including photos, but never heard back. The racing itself was fun and the staff did a great job, the pizza mediocre but the broken arcade and lack of customer follow-up really overshadowed the experience.

It was my twin 12 yr old sons birthday and they wanted to give this a try before we went shopping. They did 2 races and had an absolute blast. The guy at the front desk was very helpful in explaining the prices and packages, ect. They made sure their helmets fit and all were safely buckled and secured. They ran things in a timely manner. Over all 5 stars, great fun for my boys on their birthday!!

Go karts were fun and kids got to drive in there own junior race. Didn’t have to wait very long in between heats. Some of the arcade machines were down and the machine were you get the arcade card was down. But overall a good time riding go karts

Did a group party with 10 adults. Racing was awesome and everyone had a good time - track staff was helpful and engaged and everyone loved the medals. We had a catered lunch scheduled in between our two races and the food was very sub-par for the cost. The server appeared unaware of our catering order which was placed weeks in advance - asked if we had three or four pizzas, and didn't know what kinds they should be. The pizzas were not hot anymore when served and appeared to be just heated frozen pizzas. Very little cheese or toppings. The wings got mixed reviews with most in our group stating that the wings were better than the pizza. Dessert was frozen cake that had not been fully defrosted. One of our guests recognized it as the same cake they serve at the nursing home where they work. Two drink tickets each were included with our catering package and everyone appreciated the good selection of bottled drinks. Would love to go racing again but would not bother with the catering service next time.

These boys absolutely loved this experience. Your track staff was excellent at making sure they were safe and having fun. The Front Desk team was also very helpful with the registration process. Highly recommend K1!!
