The staff that was working were super friendly and very helpful. The staff is young, but still very nice. The buildings were all super clean and organized. I got the privilege of talking to the manager Willie and he was cool as a fan. You can tell he really loves his job and his staff. Very nice and respectful. The go cart track was really fun. The carts are fast. I like the fact there is a safety video before hand. The cost was very affordable for two people. The race last roughly 7 minutes, but when you are on the track it feels longer.
I really wanted to love having a place like PKR/Piccadilly Kart Racing in Union, because our community desperately needs more places for kids, families, and adults to have fun. Unfortunately, the pricing makes it very difficult for a large portion of our community to actually enjoy it. You can expect to spend around $45 for three races, with each race being roughly 7 minutes. That means you're paying about $45 for only 21 minutes of racing. For a family on a strict budget, especially a family with multiple children, that adds up incredibly quickly. Union is a community with many lower and middle income families. We also have numerous workshop facilities and day programs serving adults with disabilities and special needs, many of whom live on fixed incomes. There are foster families, large families, caregivers, and so many people in our community who simply cannot justify spending $45 for 21 minutes of entertainment. For our family, we've found ourselves driving to places around Ellisville and Ballwin instead because there are more affordable options with activities where multiple people can participate at the same time. Things like bumper cars allow several people to enjoy the activity together rather than paying for individual short races. Some places even offer summer or monthly passes that make entertainment much more affordable for families. I'm not saying PKR shouldn't charge what they need to charge to operate. I just wish Union had an entertainment option that was more accessible to everyone, rather than something that feels geared toward families with more disposable income. Union deserves a place where kids can have fun without their parents having to choose between a short activity and their grocery budget. ❤️ It's honestly a shame because Union needs places like this, but they also need to be affordable enough for the whole community to enjoy. I really hope PKR considers more family-friendly pricing, group rates, monthly passes, or other options that could make it accessible to more people. This isn't about wanting something for free. It's about wanting affordable entertainment in our own community.
I drove literally 54 mins me and my family per the site saying they was open JUST TO GET THERE AND THEY WAS CLOSED!!! When I say beyond LIVID🤬. Why are you closed on a weekend? Yet it was still early in the day well before closing hours! Called numerous times even called the locations next door which I feel should have info on if they are open or not considering they are more than likely affiliated in some way! We were really looking forward to spending the evening there just to drive 54 mins for disappointment let alone a hour of wasted time and gas!! First bad experience!!!
Welp, tried to go for the first time. Showed up at 8:50 with my two young kids and started to register, worker came over said no junior karts after 9:00. I asked for them to just ride once real quick and was told nope by the time I register it will be after 9. Mind you they had maybe 5 people total in there on a Friday night, 5! the place was empty!! What a joke. Definitely won’t be back. It’s no wonder these lances don’t last when you literally deny your business!
